Concrete And Hypertufa Molds – With Silicone Caulking Compound

Before we start this project let me warn you that it is a messy business. You should have some rubber gloves, a couple of tubes of clear silicone caulking compound, (don’t get the odorless kind) some Xylene, (this is for cleanup so get a pint or so) a can of paste wax, a small bottle of glycerin, and some acrylic crafters paint.

You should be able to get glycerin at a pharmacy; you only need a little so get the smallest bottle you can.

Powder Rooms - A Place To Indulge Decorative Fantasies

A half bath or powder room may be the place to indulge your decorative fantasies..

This can be especially true in a busy household with young children.

Consider who will be using your half bath or powder room before you begin. If it is not primarily for family overflow, and will be utilized mostly by guests, a powder room can be the place to indulge a few decorative whims until your children are older.

The half bath or powder room is a good place to put a little extra luxury and special or fancy decor.

Decorative Concrete Techniques

Plain grey concrete is drab and has little if any aesthetic appeal. There are numerous techniques now available to enhance the appearance of a poured concrete slab. These processes can be used on any concrete slab around pools, patios, walkways, and driveways. It should be noted that with the possible exception of the exposed aggregate technique, all other decorative concrete techniques rely on a solid finished surface. If you have areas of concrete that are flaking, these areas should be repaired prior to adding the decorative finishes.
