Our planet earth is very lucky to have the sun, the center of the solar system at the right distance. Had we been too near to the sun we would have been burned. No life would have been possible. Had we been far away then also life would not have been possible.

The sun was worshipped as God in olden days for he is the giver of light and life. The energy we get from the sun is called solar energy. This solar energy powers many homes instead of fuel and oil power. Hydro power is also in decline with global warming and so now we have turned to solar power to have energy systems at home.

Residential solar panels really are an awesome investment in the environment. The latest trend is to be eco-friendly and using the sun’s heat for home energy is becoming extremely popular. Solar panels themselves are not a new concept. My family had them on our house 25 years ago and even though today’s models are aesthetically better looking the basic concepts are still the same.

You don’t have to use solar panels to provide energy to your entire home if you aren’t quite ready for that step. Instead, consider smaller ways you can use residential solar panels around your home and yard. For instance, they are very useful in gardens for lighting and water features. They are also great for heating swimming pools to provide a little more comfort in those chilly fall and winter months.

In rural areas particularly, the cost of drawing from the nearest power grid far exceeds the cost of solar panel power, and the gap is increasing fast. And more and more many households in all sorts of areas – rural, suburban, and urban alike – are turning to home solar panel system as a source of backup power in case of a blackout or other emergency.
